The WA Police Airwing consists of the construction of a new air hangar facility and an office area for staff and administration. The construction of the facility mainly consists of tilt up panels with span deck cladding to the hangar and a mixture of ultrabond and compressed sheeting cladding to the office area. The floors to the hangar were fibre reinforced concrete which reduced the intervals of construction joints and also reduced the time frame for construction as there was no requirement for reinforcement. Being a police facility there was an abundance of services and layout and sequence of these services were essential to the successful completion of the works. The project was located alongside the airside of the airport so there were height restrictions on equipment for erection of panels. All internal partitions to the office space were a mixture of construction consisting of stud walls, core filled concrete blocks and maxi bricks. All walls were full height to increase the acoustic properties of the facility. Workshops and a mezzanine floor were constructed in a section of the hangar floor.
