Construction of a four level brick/concrete walled auditorium/classroom/cafeteria building with steel structured roof clad in marine grade colourbond metal including extensive soft and hard landscape externally. This new building facility was constructed in two stages, with stage 1 comprising of the construction and completion of balconies, teaching rooms and toilet facilities within a tight timeframe. The remaining building (stage 2 works-main auditorium and cafeteria) which included associated road works, external services, external paving and finishes, along with the final commissioning of all electrical, hydraulic, fire, lift and mechanical services being installed.
This complex project involved major excavation works for the under stage area to facilitate the construction of retaining walls, and the extensive diversion and re-routing of existing plumbing, reticulation and electrical services outside of the new building works
Contract works also involved the construction of a new tensile fabric structure mounted on columns and linked to the main building located to the north of the new building structure. A new electrical transformer and fire storage tank facility also required upgrading to the existing services.
Close interface and co-ordination with works directed by the College was of paramount importance. This included the installation of the following: air-conditioning, reticulation, stage equipment, lighting, landscaping contracts, educational equipment and loose furniture.
