The new Science and Technology Centre was constructed as a new addition to the existing Rossmoyne Senior School.
The two storey building was completed with the use of modern designs and without the use of traditional brickwork.
The external fabric of the building consisted of a mixture of pre finished full height pre-cast concrete walls, compressed fibre cement boarding with patterned design and custom orb wall cladding, these elements blended with the extensive continuous run of windows.
The structure consisted of a mixture of in-situ concrete columns, structural steel and the ultra floor pre-cast system. The roof was finished with colourbond sheeting. The Internal design housed nine large laboratory classrooms and included laboratory storage and preparation areas supplemented by staffrooms, amenities and a walkthrough lift. The finished rooms were supplemented by the extensive fixed furniture and flooring fit out.
The external works included ramps and stairs, FESA access roads and hardstands, reticulation, landscaping and exposed aggregate concrete works, the addition of two new tennis and basketball courts formed part of this contract.
