In early 2012 Sandover Pinder + dwp|suters were commissioned to design the WA State Netball Centre, PS Structures were appointed as principle contractor in July 2013 by the Department of Finance - Building Management and Works to construct this project.
Located in Jolimont the facility will provide a new head office for Netball WA, elite training and practice facilities for West Coast Fever, and a number of opportunities for grass roots integration of netball clubs within the state.
The project consisted of an external works cut and fill exercise, stormwater retention system and local overflow provisions as conditions dictated that no stormwater outfall connection was available, to reduce the impact of the building the 6.0m variance in height from the Selby Street elevation was utilised by incorporating structural retaining walls to allow the building RL to effectively be lowered for the ground floor areas, a combination of in-situ concrete, structural steel, and tilt panel construction were main superstructure elements, the structural steel roof trusses were required to span 63m column to column unsupported.
The remaining external facade and roof treatments were a combination of profiled steel and aluminium composite cladding panels, semi opaque “lexan” polycarbonate sheeting and aluminium windows, doors and solar shading.
Internally the building houses the main courts and terrace seating area (4650m2) (1050 seats), 8 sets of team changing & amenity areas, elite level host changing facilities, umpire, spectator changing & amenity facilities, consultancy, rehabilitation, injury prevention, main reception, bar kiosk and foyer/entrance corridor to the ground floor.
First floor is a dedicated office facility that is the new head quarters for Netball WA.
The main playing court is serviced by a perimeter displacement ventilation system, which is designed to allow the air to traverse the court at 1.0m for a distance of 22.0m for m both western and Eastern aspects, this is a large volume low velocity system, traditional ducted air-conditioning serves the remainder of the building
A mixture of exposed aggregate coloured, feature panelled in-situ concrete and trafficable brick paving form the external forecourt areas, there is also an artificial playing court externally, and mixture of soft landscaping complimented by the external lighting system.
A new road intersection was constructed by the town of Cambridge as part of a separate works package; the scheme link road could then be installed allied to the new southern car park, which provides 211 parking spaces.

The Water Corporation Balcatta Depot and Business Office project consisted of the refurbishment of the existing office building and a new two level office extension creating an overall office space with a GFA of 6885m2. The new lower ground office area also included an end of trip facilities and space for a gym. The construction of the new office portion was achieved with tilt up panels and steel framed walls clad externally with alucobond sheeting. All windows were surrounded by steel framed hoods and clad with alucobond sheeting to reduce direct sunlight onto the glazing. Internal spaces were created by a combination of masonry, gyprock and glazed walls. Internal ceilings consisted of a combination of flush gyprock and acoustic grid ceilings, with specialised timber finned ceilings installed with a wave pattern to the five lunch room areas. The WA Police Airwing consists of the construction of a new air hangar facility and an office area for staff and administration. The construction of the facility mainly consists of tilt up panels with span deck cladding to the hangar and a mixture of ultrabond and compressed sheeting cladding to the office area. Read More >>
In May 2009, as part of its “Super Science Initiative” the Commonwealth Government allocated $80 mllion for the development of the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre.
